A mother's embrace

By Lori Polachek

Fifty years is a long time to be searching
for a mother’s embrace

Even for a dreamer
with line blindness

Disguised in business suits
and holy matrimony

at the intersection between
Acceptance and Never give up

“Mommy where are you?”
 Reverberates like a shofar
Calling from the present

This is how history repeats
